eLearning Alabama uses a Web-based model to provide effective professional development that leads to gains in teacher's content knowledge, improvements in their teaching practices and increases in the achievement of their students.
The program is implemented through the Alabama Department of Education Technology in Motion .
eLearning Alabama is an excellent way to move forward on your own professional development responsive to your schedule and needs.
State Project Director of eLearning, Tom Dreilinger
Tom Dreilinger has been the State Project Director for eLearning for Educators-Alabama since the program's inception in 2006. In a previous life, he served 20+ years as an Army pilot and retired as an Associate Professor of Military History at the Army Staff College. His lovely wife Carol teaches pre-school at the local YMCA as well as Taekwondo with 22-year old son who is the school owner and chief instructor. All three are volunteers with the county's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Between that and the rescued dogs and a rescued cat, there is never a dull moment. Looking forward to online learning!
